Bernice Steinbaum Gallery Celebrates First Art Show in Over a Year
Multimedia Group Art Show Brings Much-Needed Coolness To Miami Summer
Miami, FL: After a year of isolation, the Bernice Steinbaum Gallery will be opening its doors on July 3rd from 5 to 8 pm for a group art show called Summer Days. Refreshments, specifically ginger beer (non-alcoholic) and iced tea, will be served. Nestled within the leafy environs of Coconut Grove, a variety of art works of different mediums, from paintings to sculptures to photography, will be exhibited until October 30th, 2021.
The represented artists will be creating new works that showcase their interpretation of the theme of summer days. The unknown element of these works calls to mind the nature of this past year and a half of upheaval and discovery. Over the course of the pandemic, we have learned about the importance of connectivity and community, and the reevaluation of humans’ relationship with nature, and more particularly recycling and making something new from the old. Through the haziness and nostalgia of summertime, guests will find community and connection within the gallery walls, as well as art works that tickle the mind and fancy.
Though there is much to mourn, there is also much cause for celebration. As Bernice Steinbaum states, “It felt like the gallery died once its doors closed.” The presence of visitors makes the art come alive again in a way that nothing else does.
- The thirteen artists whose works will be shown are Troy Abbott, Pavel Acosta, Carola Bravo, Maria Magda Campos-Pons, Enrique Gomez de Molina, Patrick Jacobs, Jefreid Lotti, Shelly McCoy, Beverly McIver, Aurora Molina, Fabian Pena, and Carrie Sieh.
- This multimedia show will have everything from the fine textile art of Aurora Molina, to the faux taxidermy fauna creations of Enrique Gomez de Molina.
